As I have mentioned in previous posts it is always good for moral when he comes out. There is something about his mere presence that makes everyone happy. He cares and it shows.
On a side note…I think he is sick of me and my camera but he will just have to get over it.
Besides, I wanted to show a picture of him with a little color in his cheeks. He has been helping with getting the hay up and irrigating. A little farmer tan is all a cowboy needs. The pictures of the tribute were a few days after a chemo treatment. It’s been a couple weeks since his last treatment. Funny how a break from poison injections can make a person feel better.
Speaking of a break…he won’t receive another treatment for a few more weeks. He will have more time between treatments this go round and then they will follow up with another scan.
So good news is his counts are staying up, his spirits are up, and he feels a little better.
He was also happy to get a visit from his long time valley friends and also talk to another friend who is fighting his own battle with another form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He is not alone. More good news…BROCK RECEIVED HIS LAST TREATMENT!!!! He will still need to come down for monthly check ups and remain on some meds but he has completed his treatments. Such a great day for the entire family! I have a whole new level of admiration and respect for my brother Dustin and his wife Julee for their strength and unwavering commitment. Their knowledge and experience has also been helpful with Dad’s care. I guess some blessings come in strange packages.
One victory for the Smith’s…one more to go!
